  1. Mallawa Irrigation is within the Condamine Balonne Water Resource Plan. The water management area is Lower Balonne. All water supplied to customers is classed as medium priority water.

  2. The Mallawa Board meets once every two months. Mallawa list prices at least by every December for the upcoming water year. In addition to these prices being published on the website at this time, they will also be mailed to customers. Mallawa, being a public unlisted Company is not for profit. Therefore prices are set to cover operational and capital costs only with any revenue above this being returned to members as lower prices or a rebate on accounts. A part of Mallawa’s operational costs are are bulk water charges from Sunwater for Mallawa’s loss accounts. These bulk water charges total just under 240K annually. As an operational cost, these charges affect the prices passed onto Mallawa customers.

  3. Dispute Resolution. Mallawa’s aim is to resolve problems and complaints quickly and effectively. Where a customer has a concern that is not able to be resolved, customers can choose to initiate a formal dispute resolution process by writing to the General Manager. If through discussions, resolution cannot be reached either party may request the commencement of negotiations in good faith on a dispute resolution procedure, other than litigation or arbitration. If agreement is reached to proceed to the next phase, independent mediation services of the Disputes Resolution Centers of Queensland can be used.

  4. Invoicing. Invoices are sent quarterly (in advance) and all invoices must be paid within 30 days. Payments are allocated to the customer’s oldest debt first, unless an invoice is in dispute. Mallawa only posts Summary Invoices to customers, however, you can receive a Detailed Invoice via email. Contact 07 4625 4358 to arrange to take advantage of this option. Where Drainage services are invoiced together with other services (eg water supply), payments of those invoices are directed towards Drainage services first, and the residual to other services. Mallawa reserves the right to charge interest on overdue accounts as per the Mallawa constitution.
